Chapter 5- Riddles in the dark. Then Bilbo awakes. Bilbo did not know where he was and and it was pitch black. Bilbo stood up onto his feet and found a ring. He did not know waht the ring did so he just kept it in his pocket. Bilbo goes around the tunnels and encounters Gollum. Gollum was a slimy creature who lived all alon in teh goblin tunnels. Bilbo asks for the way out, and Gollum decides to play a riddle games. If Gollum won, Bilbo would be eaten, and if Bilbo won, Gollum would show the way out. The riddle games goes back and forth with no ending. Then Bilbo asks a question that stumps Gollum. Bilbo asks "What is in my pocket?" Gollum can not find the answer and suspects that Bilbo has the ring he lost. Then Bilbo slips on the ring and manages to escape the goblin tunnels. |
