Chapter 3- A Short Rest The wholel expediton takes a rest in Rivendell. The expedtion takes shelter in Elrond's house, who is a friend of Gandalf. Then, Gandalf shows the elves a map shown in moon letters. Moon letters are letters that can only be seen under the same face of the moon that it was written. The elves say that the two swords found in the troll's caves were called Orcrist and Glamdring. Also they said that the expedition must satand by a large grey roak near Lonely Mountain on Durin's Day, which is the first day of the dwares New Year. Also the expedtion must listen for a thrush when the sun is setting and they will see a keyhole leading to the secret passage into Smaug's lair. The dwarves, Bilbo, and Gandalf enjoy their time and then continue onto their quest. |
